Study: Shoppers Overcharged Repeatedly at Kroger-Owned Chains

shopping cart Consumer Reports and a consortium of other media outlets conducted a nationwide price accuracy survey this spring of Kroger and Kroger-owned supermarket chains after hearing repeated complaints of overcharging. Some of their stores include Food4Less, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter, King Soopers, Ralphs and many more. Testers found expired shelf price labels in many stores, and that led to them being overcharged on over 150 items. What has been your experience there? Post your observations or read others'.

Shoppers Hit With Surprise Tariff Bills After They Placed Their Order

money MrConsumer feared this would happen: companies or shippers would hold packages hostage if they had to pay a tariff on the goods that got imposed after you ordered but before it was delivered. And that is what has started occurring. They are now sending out bills for the extra tariffs owed (but be careful of scammers doing the same thing). If you got such a bill, please tell me about it and email me a copy.

Here is the print version of this story.

Why Cars Stopped at Traffic Lights Have to Restart the Engine

Did you ever notice when you are stopped at a red light, that the car next to you has to seemingly restart the car engine when the light turns green? The purpose of this start/stop technology is to save gas... but does it really save anything substantial? According to Consumer Reports, this start/stop routine can save between 7 - 26% of fuel depending where you drive most.
