That Gift Card Could Be Worthless

One unlucky consumer bought an Apple gift card at Safeway for $100. Then she learned the money she had put on the card mysteriously disappeared. So she bought another at Rite Aid. And that money vanished too. It is unclear if the cards were counterfeit or a crook had copied the numbers and wiped them clean later.
