Mouse Print*-- During Open Enrollment, Look for Health Plan Changes
This is open enrollment time for picking a 2024 health insurance plan for many people. We focus on a couple of Medicare plans just to highlight the importance of making a fresh comparison every year rather than just assuming your plan has remained the same.
That is our Mouse Print* story this week.
U.S. News is out with its annual list of the best places to retire. The editors evaluated data on the job market, retiree taxes, desirability, availability of quality health care, affordability, weather, cost of living, and happiness levels. They only evaluated the 150 largest cities in the U.S., however. And, here are separate lists for the most affordable cities for retirees and others according to data collected by Empower.
How enticing to get an invitation to become an Amazon product tester! They promise free products and will even pay you to write reviews. Don't fall for it because this is a scam going around on social media or by email. The real program is called Amazon Vine, and only a relative few people are invited to join.

This is going to be another frustrating year for bargain hunters. Black Friday sales are spread throughout the month of November. Who knows anymore when is the right time to buy. Roku Express 4K+ - $24.99 or less
At major electronics retailers (Target, Best Buy, Amazon, etc.) you can save $15 on a great streaming device, the Roku Express 4K+. It has a voice remote, doesn't need a line-of-sight to use the remote, and has two-band Wi-Fi. MrConsumer recently bought two of them for more! Note to Target customers: There is a 10% off coupon on electronics at Target.com/circle good through 11/18 that works on this item. And if you use the Target Red Card to purchase it, that will save you an additional 5%... bringing the net price to $21.37!
You Paid a Higher Price, Now It's On Sale... What Can You Do?
This month may be frustrating for many shoppers because Black Friday deals are being offered seemingly at random rather than being held until the day after Thanksgiving. Consumer Reports offers advice on getting back the difference if you find a lower price advertised. (Generally speaking, however, don't expect to get a price match for products advertised November 24-27.)
