We Are Being Fee'd to Death

fees Everywhere you turn, there seems to be another fee being tacked on various bills. You see a good price, but then it gets jacked up with junk fees. That happens when you order from delivery services like Uber Eats (see their 9 possible fees). It happens on loans despite state rate caps. It happens on airlines that make billions on junk fees. States are jumping on the bandwagon to regulate them as well as the federal government. [Each link is a separate story.]

Keep Your Car Battery Alive All Winter

As the colder weather sets in around many part of the country, it may be time to think about your car battery. MrConsumer may only take out his car once a week in the colder months, and its battery tends to have a harder time starting the car as the winter progresses. So he installed a "trickle" charger or battery "maintainer" that slowly keeps the battery charged while sitting in his garage. Now it starts right up! They can cost less than $30.
