Rent-A-Center Comes Under Fire

Rent-a-Center A major investigative report by NerdWallet alleges that Rent-A-Center, a home furnishings leasing and rent-to-own chain, uses overly aggressive collection tactics on past due accounts, keeps poor records resulting in erroneous collections from paid-up customers, and charges prices sometimes two or three times the going retail price. Here is part one of their full report. (See sidebar on the right for other parts of the report.) And this is their comparison of prices at Rent-A-Center versus traditional retailers.
